Articles, newsletters, podcasts and YouTube in one calm place. Follow freely. Jist handles the noise.
Why Jist
You don’t need to keep up with everything. You just need the jist.
In a feed reader, every new source is more to sort through. Jist does the sorting, so following more makes it better, not worse.
When several sources cover the same news, Jist puts them together, so you read it once.
You should be able to step away from information without being punished for it. No guilt, and never “312 unread.”
How Jist works
The Jist
The headline and the publisher's own preview. Tap it to open the Jist: a short summary of what it says, written for you, so you can decide in seconds whether to read, listen or watch the whole thing. Long Jist and the original are one tap further.
Try it: tap the card.
Stories
When several of your sources cover the same thing, Jist folds them into one Story with what each adds. You read it once, and it updates as the news moves.
Try it: tap the Story.
Briefs
Each morning, the Stories and pieces worth your time in one short read. Missed days roll into one catch-up, and a Weekly Brief looks back on your week.
Today
Jist keeps only what matters in Today, and when you've seen it all, Today says so. No endless feed. Everything else from your sources is still kept, so you can see all of it whenever you want.
Ask
Ask a question and Jist researches it across the sources you follow and trust, then answers with citations to the exact paragraph, or the moment in an episode or video, so you can check it.
It passed with a narrower budget than proposed; most coverage expects bus changes first and rail later.
You
Choose how each source's cards open, which topics always show and which never do. Jist also learns from what you read and skip.

Good to know
Yes. Free keeps everything you follow in one place, newest first, with a reader made for reading, a player for podcasts and video, and your Library and search, on your phone, tablet and the web. Pro adds Jists, Stories, a Today that ends, Briefs and Ask, and starts with 14 days free.
Websites and blogs with a feed, newsletters, podcasts and YouTube channels: up to 50 on Free and 500 on Pro. Bring what you already follow from another reader as an OPML file, or your YouTube subscriptions.
Every item, summary and share page names its publication and links to the original, and a piece behind a paywall opens on its publisher’s own site. Publishers can ask for previews only, to be left out, or for a summary to be corrected, on the page for publishers.
It’s yours. You can export everything Jist keeps for your account, or your follows as an OPML file, and delete your account at any time, from the app or the web.
On iPhone, iPad, Android and the web, always in sync: your place in a piece, your highlights and your Library follow you.
